The League of Arab States called on international organizations and human rights institutions to intervene to ensure the implementation of the rules and principles of the legal system to protect prisoners held by the Israeli occupation.
The Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine Affairs Saeed Abu Ali said in a press statement that the martyrdom of the cancer patient, Kamal Abu Waer, is a result of the occupation’s deliberate medical negligence policy against the prisoners, and is an additional Israeli crime in the record of its crimes against the Palestinian people.
He stressed that the world should not only condemn this new crime, but rather should ensure implementation of the rules and principles of international humanitarian law, to protect the lives of prisoners.
