New settlement project would separate Tulkarm from the West Bank

Walid Assaf, head of the Palestinian Authority’s Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, warned today, Monday, of the danger posed to the Kafriyat area, south of Tulkarm, arising from the implementation of a settlement known as “the industrial zone.”
Minister Assaf stated, in an interview with “Wafa” agency, that the settlement project would be the largest and most dangerous in Tulkarm since its occupation in 1967.
He pointed out that, if this project is implemented, it would separate Tulkarm from its southern countryside, and it would separate it also from the Nablus governorate, indicating that the project aims to expand the settlement bloc and turn the area into Archipelago, which eliminates the possibility to establish an independent and contiguous Palestinian state.
