LP4Q WELCOMES THE CALL BY MALAYSIAN FOREIGN MINISTER FOR PARLIAMENTS TO CONDEMN ISRAEL

Member of the Executive Committee of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds (LP4Q), and Deputy in the Malaysian Parliament (Dewan Rakyat), Ledang MP Syed Noh Syed Ibrahim, has welcomed the campaign launched by the Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, which encourages all members of parliaments to condemn and reject Israel’s illegal plan to annex parts of the West Bank including the Jordan Valley in a letter dated 24 July 2020.

Hishammuddin Hussein’s call, follows the proposal made by MP Noh calling for the expulsion of Israel from the United Nations. This proposal was discussed and unanimously approved by the Malaysian Parliament.

In a statement issued today, MP Noh acknowledged the efforts and commitment of the Malaysian Government; to call for the condemnation of Israel for its annexation plan at UN, and to further raise the call at various multi lateral forums including the ASEAN Summit, UN and OIC, and the launch of an #UniteForPalestine campaign.

MP Noh added: “the initiative to collect signatures from all members of parliament from the opposition and Government is ongoing. The petition signed by all parliamentarians will be handed over to the related bodies as soon as possible”.

MP Noh expressed his hopes that these actions and efforts will gain the full support of all members of parliament and the Malaysian people to support the struggle for freedom of the Palestinians in the name of universal justice, freedom and humanity.
