Anti-siege committee calls for int’l action to help Gaza face corona

The International Committee for Breaking the Siege of Gaza has said that the deteriorating humanitarian and health situation in the Gaza Strip entails urgent international intervention.
In a statement, head of the Committee Zahir Birawi called for urgent international action to end the blockade on Gaza and provide it with medicine and necessary medical supplies, especially in light of the spread of coronavirus worldwide and the presence of some quarantined cases in Gaza.
Birawi warned against taking the situation in Gaza lightly, stressing that the issue of Gaza should not be deferred or ignored.
He also said that any spread of coronavirus in Gaza means a humanitarian catastrophe in every sense of the world, especially because of the weak health sector and the high population density.
