Israeli court jails Lama Khater for 13 months

The Israeli military court of Ofer has sentenced Palestinian writer Lama Khater, 42, to 13 months in jail and fined her 4,000 shekels.
Khater, a mother of five kids, also received another 10-month jail term suspended for five years.
She was arrested by Israeli soldiers on July 2018, 24 and was exposed to intensive harsh and inhumane interrogation for 34 days in Ashkelon prison.
On the day of her arrest, a large number of Israeli soldiers stormed her house in al-Khalil city and informed her that she was under arrest, without mentioning reasons. They seized her cell phone, laptop, and her external hard drive.
Khater had been previously threatened by Israeli and Palestinian intelligence services because of her work as a writer and political analyst. She was taken to an unknown destination but later transferred to Ashkelon prison.
