UK condemns Israeli police eviction of Jerusalem family

British Deputy Consul General Alison Hall condemned Israeli police eviction of the Abu Assab family from its home in the Muslim Quarter in the Old City of the Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem in order to turn it over to Jewish settlers.
Israeli authorities Sunday expelled by force the Abu Assab family from its home in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem to turn it over to a Jewish settler group.
The British Deputy Consul General in a statement said the UK government condemns the Israeli eviction of Abu Assab family from their home in the Old City of Jerusalem, where they had been living for decades.
He said the Israeli eviction operations, which he stressed cause unnecessary suffering to the Palestinian residents, are a violation of international law and undermine chances of peace.
