Jerusalem family has 24 hours to evict home for benefit of settlers

The Israeli authorities Monday gave the Abu Assab family in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem 24 hours to evict its home and turn it over to a Jewish settler group, according to the family.
They urged residents and international organizations to help them prevent their eviction from the home they had lived in all their life.
A sit-in is planned at the targeted house on Tuesday evening to protest the Israeli decision, said the family.
The settlers claimed ownership of the house, located near Al-Aqsa Mosque, in spite of the Abu Assab family contending that the settlers’ claim was not legal.
