After the arrest of MP Dahbour .. Increase in the number of Palestinian deputies prisoners to 9 deputies

The media spokesman for the Center of the Prisoners of Palestine for Studies, researcher Riad Ashqar, said that the number of deputies of the Palestinian Legislative Council kidnapped by the occupation rose again at dawn yesterday to reach (9) deputies after the abduction of MP “Ibrahim Dahbour” from Jenin.
Al-Ashqar said that the occupation forces raided the house of the deputy in the Legislative Council for the Jenin governorate, Ibrahim Mohammed Saleh Dahbour, 53 years old, and searched him his house, and then arrested him again and took him to an unknown destination. Just less than one year passed since the last time he had been arrested, bringing the number of deputies kidnapped to 9 deputies.
He pointed out that the deputy “Dahbour” was previously arrested and spent a year and a half in the prisons of the occupation under administrative detention, and his last arrest was in March 2017, then a decision of administrative detention was issued against him and renewed 3 times in a row. He was finally released in March last year after that he spent a full year, and was re-arrested at dawn yesterday.
He also pointed out that the number of deputies kidnapped by the occupation ranges from high and low, but has not stopped since 2006, where the number of deputies who have experienced arrests is more than 60 deputies, while at the beginning of last year, the number of arrested members decreased significantly and reached only 3 deputies, And then returned to rise at the end of the year until it reached 9 deputies, including deputy “Khalidah Jarrar”, which is subject to renewed administrative detention.
Al-Ashqar considered the arrest of the deputies political by excellence, so the occupation often resorted to turning them into administrative detention, and their abduction is considered a flagrant violation of the most basic international conventions and is not based on any legal justification.
