Member of the Executive Committee Hanan Ashrawi has received, on Monday, a delegation of Chilean parliamentarians including representatives of Chilean parties, intellectuals and journalists in the presence of the Palestinian community’s President in the Republic of Chile, and briefed them on the latest political developments.
At the beginning of the meeting, which was held at the organization’s headquarters in Ramallah, Ashrawi welcomed the visiting delegation, stressing the depth of the bilateral relations between the two countries and the Palestinian and Chilean peoples, providing a comprehensive assessment of the latest international and regional developments.
She also addressed the policies of the American administration which are contrary to international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy and their repercussions and irresponsible effects on the region and the world at large, including the recent assistance in the attempt to blackmail the Palestinian people and leadership and its efforts to resolve the refugee issue by undermining the work of the UNRWA and halting its funding , And the statements of the American administration on the removal of Jerusalem from the negotiating table, in addition to recognizing the capital of Israel and the transfer of its embassy to it.
“The US administration has withdrawn itself from being an honest broker for peace by its blind commitment to Israel and its record of human rights violations, and has become a partner of the occupying state in crimes and oppression of the Palestinian people through a current colonial occupation in the 21st century.”
