Kuwaiti diplomat: Palestinian cause tops Arab Summit agenda

Kuwaiti Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Arab World Affairs Ambassador Aziz al-Dihani reiterated his country’s support for the Palestinian cause, saying the issue tops the agenda of the forthcoming Arab Summit.
Ambassador al-Dihani stressed Kuwait’s special concern dedicated for the Palestinian cause, which he said will be a top priority on the Arab Summit agenda, to be held in Jordan.
The State of Kuwait provides needed support as well as special attention to the Palestinian question, re-affirmed Ambassador al-Dihani in a statement to the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.
The diplomat was speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of a meeting of the permanent delegates at the Arab League.
Al-Dihani, head of the Kuwaiti delegation at the envoys’ meeting, indicated that he agreed with the conferees on classifying the Palestinian issue as a prime topic on the agenda due to its strategic significance.
According to the diplomat, the Kuwaiti people are in distress due to the abusive acts against the Palestinians, which have also hampered the Middle East peace process.
He added that Kuwait will host in May an international conference about the hardships faced by Palestinian children and the Israeli breaches of their human rights.
As to the summit, set to kick off on Wednesday, he affirmed its significance, under the chairmanship of the Jordanian King Abdullah II.
