During the meeting, Mr. Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar expressed gratitude to the Turkish Parliament for its sponsorship of the League's fifth conference, titled "Freedom and Independence for Palestine," and for its support of the Palestinian cause and its positions regarding the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Hamid indicated that an agreement was reached during the meeting to hold a parliamentary seminar addressing the genocide in Gaza, with participation from Turkish political parties in Parliament. He praised the official, parliamentary, and popular Turkish role in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people.
The league's President expressed his appreciation for the Turkish Parliament's responsiveness and high level of coordination with the League's regional and international parliamentary efforts regarding the ongoing genocide in Gaza, offering his sincere condolences to the Republic of Turkey for the victims of the terrorist attack that targeted the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) in Ankara.
The delegation informed the Turkish Parliament Speaker about the massacres and ethnic cleansing perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces in the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza, as well as the worsening humanitarian consequences resulting from the ongoing genocide in the region.
In turn, Kurtulmuş affirmed Turkey's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause in all international and parliamentary forums, commending the League's efforts and its role in this regard.
The Speaker of the Turkish Parliament emphasized the need to increase the number of supporters for the Palestinian cause, unify the Islamic front, and overcome political differences to support Palestine, noting that Israel benefits from the fragmentation of Islamic countries to target Palestinian civilians and implement its plans in Jerusalem.
He highlighted the importance of isolating Israel internationally, especially the government of Benjamin Netanyahu, and working to increase the number of friends of Palestine worldwide.
