The League's Administration Holds a Meeting with the Arab International Commission for Construction in Palestine

Yesterday, Monday, the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine held a meeting with the Arab International Commission for Construction in Palestine at the League's headquarters in Istanbul. The meeting aimed to discuss the coordination of reconstruction projects in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting included the participation of the Chairman of the Commission's Board of Directors, Engineer Zouhair Al-Omari, Vice President Issa Mekiki, Board Member Mohammed Ghazal, the Executive Director of the Commission Mohammed Mukhaimer, and Commission Member Hisham El-Beltaji. The delegation was received by Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, Secretary-General of the League, and Eng. Abdullah El-Beltaji, Head of the International Relations Department.

During the meeting, the League’s General Secretariat discussed with the Commission's delegation the key ideas and projects undertaken by the Commission for the reconstruction of Gaza and the support of vital service sectors in the Strip. They also discussed the role of parliamentarians in this context, and how the League could serve as a liaison between the institutions involved in reconstruction and the parliamentarians, following the end of the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, the Secretary-General of the League, explained during the meeting that the League is in communication with parliamentarians to provide assistance in the reconstruction process and to connect with relevant institutions. He emphasized that the League is doing everything in its power to mitigate the effects of the war by coordinating the efforts of its members spread across various parliaments worldwide and by reaching out to relevant bodies and organizations.

He also pointed out that the League is working on a project to supply the heavy machinery necessary for municipal operations, in collaboration with the Gaza Municipalities Union.

Furthermore, the Secretary-General indicated that the meeting discussed the idea of organizing joint activities, including holding a joint conference between the League and the Commission to discuss the reconstruction of Gaza and support for the municipal sector. They also agreed to organize workshops and enhance the partnership agreement between the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine and the Arab International Commission for Construction in Palestine.
