Deputy Chairman of the parliamentary bloc of the Turkish Nationalist Movement Party, Erkan Akçay, expressed his party's rejection and sadness over the inhumane attacks initiated by Israel on October 7th and continuing against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Akçay added in a statement following a meeting with a delegation from the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds, "We stand by Palestine and the people of Gaza with our minds, hearts, and all means available to us. Our hearts are currently beating in Jerusalem and Gaza, and the Turkish Parliament will engage in global activities by utilizing all opportunities. There is much to be done, and we will continue working within this framework."

The Deputy Chairman condemned the occupation's attacks and the genocide it is waging against the Palestinian people and civilians in the Gaza Strip. He further stated, "We will take advantage of all opportunities worldwide and make every effort for an independent Palestine."

During their visit to the headquarters of the National Assembly in the Turkish capital, Ankara, the delegation met with parliamentary blocs from the Justice and Development Party, the Nationalist Movement Party, the Good Party, the Saadet Party, and the Huda Party.

In addition to the President of the League, the meeting was attended by the President of the League of Turkiye and Turkish Parliament member, Dr. Nureddin Nebati, member of the Executive Committee of the League and member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, Osama al-Shaheen, member of the Executive Committee of the League and Turkish Parliament member, Hassan Turan, member of the Executive Committee of the League, Adel Rashid, member of the Executive Committee of the League and Assistant to the President for Asian Affairs, Mohammed Aql, member of the Executive Committee of the League and Assistant to the President for African Affairs, Bashir Jarallah, Palestinian Legislative Council member, Marwan Abu Ras, League's Director General, Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, and Head of Public Relations Department in the League, Abdullah al-Beltaji.
