A delegation from the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds met with the President of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, to discuss parliamentary efforts aimed at halting the genocide war carried out by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The President of the League, Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, stated that the meeting addressed the role of the Turkish National Assembly in supporting the Palestinian cause and parliamentary actions to stop the war and provide assistance to the Gaza Strip. He commended Turkey's role and statements rejecting the genocide inflicted upon the Palestinian people and called for further Turkish positions to halt the hostilities.

The President of the League emphasized the need to pressure all international and regional parties to lift the siege on the Gaza Strip, prosecute the leaders of the occupation in international courts, and enact legislation in the Turkish Parliament in this regard.

For his part, the President of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, stated on Tuesday that Israel is killing innocent people in the Gaza Strip before the eyes of the world and attempting to erase the history of Gaza's people. He explained that his country is making diligent efforts through all international platforms to put an end to this humanitarian tragedy.

Kurtulmuş pointed out that the Turkish people stand alongside the oppressed in the Gaza Strip, and Ankara closely monitors the events and will exert its efforts to stop the genocide war. He stressed the necessity of lifting the blockade imposed on Gaza and providing assistance to the Palestinian people.

In addition to the President of the League, the meeting was attended by the President of the League of Turkiye and Turkish Parliament member, Dr. Nureddin Nebati, member of the Executive Committee of the League and member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, Osama al-Shaheen, member of the Executive Committee of the League and Turkish Parliament member, Hassan Turan, member of the Executive Committee of the League, Adel Rashid, member of the Executive Committee of the League and Assistant to the President for Asian Affairs, Mohammed Aql, member of the Executive Committee of the League and Assistant to the President for African Affairs, Bashir Jarallah, Palestinian Legislative Council member, Marwan Abu Ras, League's Director General, Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, and Head of Public Relations Department in the League, Abdullah al-Beltaji.
