The delegation of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds, headed by the President of the League, Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, met with the delegation of the Kuwaiti Parliamentary Division participating in the 17th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States held in Algeria.
Hamid Al-Ahmar stated that the meeting discussed holding an Arab parliamentary conference under the auspices of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, and activating the legal aspect in the field of prosecuting the Israeli occupation before the International Criminal Court, in addition to discussing activating the role of parliamentarians in the world, especially in Latin America and Europe, in supporting the Palestinian cause.
Al-Ahmar praised the position of the State of Kuwait in support of the Palestinian cause and their honorable and historical positions and adherence to a unified position in this regard, pointing out that it is a firm Kuwaiti position on the political leadership, parliament, government and Kuwaiti people.
For his part, the head of the Kuwaiti delegation, Undersecretary of the Parliamentary Division in the Kuwaiti National Assembly, Thamer Al-Suwait, stressed that the issue of Jerusalem and Palestine is a red line and there is no room for bargaining over it, indicating that it is a firm Kuwaiti position on the political leadership, parliament, government and the Kuwaiti people.
Al-Suwait indicated that the Palestinian issue is in the conscience of every Kuwaiti, and that the council will always carry the banner of defending Palestine, no matter how the names change.
The League delegation arrived in Algeria on Saturday to participate in the work of the conference, where a series of workshops and meetings were held with the participating delegations to highlight the dangers besetting Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to discuss support for the Palestinian people in Parliament.
The delegation, headed by the President of the League, Hamid Al-Ahmar, comprises the Vice-President of the league and Chairman of the International Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in the Indonesian Parliament, MP Dr. Fadli Zon, Assistant President of the League for African Affairs and Member of the Executive Board, Al-Bashir Djarullah, Member of the Executive Board and Chairman of the Nigerian-Palestinian Friendship Committee, Yunusa Abu Bakar, Member of the Executive Board and Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Sayed Abu Musameh, and Director of Public Relations in the League, Eng. Abdullah Beltaji.
