The League holds meetings with representatives of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to discuss its membership file

A delegation of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds held meetings with representatives of the countries participating in the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the Indonesian city of Bali.

The director-general of the league, Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, said that the delegation of the League held meetings with the delegations of the participating countries, especially members of the Executive Committee of the union, which is authorized to discuss the membership of parliamentarians for the sake of Jerusalem in the Federation.

On Sunday, Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim called on representatives of Arab, African and Asian groups in the Inter-Parliamentary Union to support the file of the league obtaining observer membership in the union.

During his speech, at the Islamic group’s session at the 144th conference of the Union, Al-Ghanim stressed the importance of supporting the League’s file for obtaining membership as an observer due to the importance of its parliamentary role in highlighting what is happening in occupied Jerusalem and Palestine and defending Arab and Islamic rights.
