The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds launches its fourth conference under the auspices of the Turkish Parliament

Today, Tuesday, the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds launched its fourth conference, under the title “Al-Quds is our red line”, in the Turkish capital, Ankara, under the auspices of the Turkish Parliament.

The conference, which will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, will be attended by Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Fuat Oktay, Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Mustafa Shantob, heads of parliaments and parliamentarians from more than 50 countries around the world.

During his speech at the opening session of the conference, the head of the association, Sheikh Hamid bin Abdullah al-Ahmar, said that the relationship between the association and the Turkish parliament is participatory and existential. Without it, the League would not have achieved this international status as the most prominent international parliamentary cover in support of the Palestinian right, adding that the League has members, committees and branches in many countries of the world, and it has begun to take its privileged position in international and regional parliamentary bodies, and its parliamentary movement is crowding out the other party in international forums.

Al-Ahmar explained, "The calls for the fourth conference were limited to parliamentarians in the working committees to support the Palestinian cause in parliaments, which makes us raise the ceiling of expectations that we will witness deep dialogues that come out with distinctive decisions and recommendations," stressing that the conference will add new ideas on the path to institutionalizing the work of the Palestine committees and the branches of the League, its regional ties, and establishes a system of tireless movement to support the struggle of the Palestinian people.

He also indicated that the League has become the most important international parliamentary framework in support of the Palestinian cause, with membership open to all supportive parliamentarians without regard to political, ethnic, religious or intellectual affiliation, pointing out that the issue expands to all despite their differences.

Al-Ahmar added, "Turkey embraced the League, and supported it despite the pressures, as this support culminated in the sovereign role of His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as his sponsorship of the League's conferences and his appearance in its opening sessions had a message to the whole world that protecting Al-Quds and liberating it from occupation and siding with the right of the people The Palestinian Authority represents a consistent strategy for the Turkish states.

As for the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Mustafa Shantop, he affirmed that Turkey categorically rejects the transfer of some countries’ embassies to Al-Quds, and will continue to support the Palestinian case forever, pointing out that Israel is working to Judaize Al-Quds with full force, in violation of international laws, and his country will work to Ban and reject this in all international forums.

Shantoub called on the international, Islamic and Arab parliaments to work together to support Al-Quds, and to search for the best ways to support it, explaining that the issue of Al-Quds is an inclusive issue for all the free people in the world.

For his part, the Vice-President of the Association and Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance of Turkey, Dr. Nur al-Din Nabani, that Al-Quds is a red line, and Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque are not just agendas but a real issue, stressing, "We must be ready to confront any breach of our red line."

Nabani indicated that Turkey will not rest until the city of Al-Quds obtains its freedom and preserves it from Judaization and violations, pointing out that Ankara is leading continuous efforts to mobilize diplomatic and parliamentary support for the Palestinian cause, under the auspices and great interest of President Erdogan.

In a speech by the Palestinian Legislative Council, Representative Khalil Al-Hayya praised the efforts of the Arab and African countries, especially the Republic of Algeria and South Africa, in confronting the Israeli attempts to penetrate the African continent, recalling that “the occupation tried to infiltrate the heart of the African continent to be an observer member of the African Union, but wise countries are.” Facing this move so far."

Al-Hayya called on the Arab and Islamic parliaments to pressure their governments to prevent normalization with the Israeli occupation and enact laws to prevent it, and to confront the plans of the occupation in Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa from displacement and Judaization.

He stressed the need to launch a global parliamentary movement to end the siege on Gaza by law and deed, and to support the prisoners inside the prisons of the occupation, especially the families of representatives detained in the prisons of the occupation, noting that the occupation arrests 10 representatives of the Legislative Council without observing international laws and norms.

For his part, Palestinian National Council member Abbas Zaki said that Al-Quds is our red line and Israel has crossed this line, and letters of sympathy do not work with it, calling for practical action to stop its violations against the Palestinian people and the city of Al-Quds.

Zaki explained that the plans of the Israeli occupation to Judaize the occupied city of Al-Quds have gone further and further, and have reached dangerous and unprecedented stages with silence and international cover.

As for the Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament, Sultan al-Barakani, he explained that the attempt to empty Al-Quds of its people and obliterate its identity calls on us, as parliamentarians and peoples, to stand up to the arrogance of the Israeli occupation and confront its barbaric policies towards the Palestinian people.

Al-Barakani noted that limiting solidarity with the Palestinian people to sympathetic speeches without serious steps, encouraged Israel to persist in its oppression and aggressions.
